Central Vietnam floods kill fifty-five, Leave thirteen missing
The hardest-hit areas include Dak Lak, where 27 people died and eight remain missing, and Khanh Hoa, which recorded 14 deaths and two missing individuals. Gia Lai and Lam Dong each reported five fatalities, while Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang reported two deaths apiece.
Additionally, two people are missing in Da Nang and one in Quang Trị province.
The floods destroyed approximately 950 houses, and over 28,460 homes remain submerged.
Heavy rain and rising waters have disrupted transportation, blocking parts of major highways and rural roads with floods and landslides.
Authorities have deployed military and police units to assist with rescue and relief operations. The disaster also devastated livestock and poultry, with reports stating that 3.24 million animals have died or been swept away.
